Soft Close Explained
Some DnL Sale-Barn auctions may use extended bidding — sometimes called a "soft close" — to keep last-second sniping from deciding a lot. When a qualifying bid comes in close to an auction's scheduled closing time, the closing time can extend to give other bidders a fair chance to respond.
Whether extended bidding is enabled, and exactly how it behaves, is configured per auction by DnL Sale-Barn staff and will be shown clearly on that auction's page.
Auction closing times shown on the site will always reflect DnL Sale-Barn's official clock.
