Soft Close Explained

Some New Horizon Auction House auctions may use extended bidding — sometimes called a "soft close" — to keep last-second sniping from deciding a lot. When a qualifying bid comes in close to an auction's scheduled closing time, the closing time can extend to give other bidders a fair chance to respond.

Whether extended bidding is enabled, and exactly how it behaves, is configured per auction by New Horizon Auction House staff and will be shown clearly on that auction's page.

Auction closing times shown on the site will always reflect New Horizon Auction House's official clock.
